Be Unstoppable!
Taralynn McNitt's 1000 Calorie Workout

Today I have to share a workout that I just did that is so killer and such a great workout!

The 1000 calorie workout from my favorite blogger, Taralynn McNitt. But before I get into that I had to share some of my beautiful weekend with you all!

It has been absolutely beautiful the last few days here and I missed out on my workout yesterday. I know I know. I shouldn't have, but I was having so much fun enjoying the outdoors that it just didn't get fit in.  My friends and I went to watch a soccer game downtown! It was beautiful out and the team won, making the afternoon even better.
After the game, I had softball practice! I am so not a softball player, but I got pestered into joining the team. Needless to say, I can't hit to save my life (such a soccer player....no hand eye coordination!) By the time I got home, I crashed! I'd been out in the sun all day, and it's been a long time since I've done that.
So today, since I had absolutely nothing going on, I decided to tackle this workout challenge. I felt bad having missed my workout yesterday and have been dying to go running, so this seemed like a great option!
It was fantastic! I mean, it killed me for sure. I probably spent a solid 15 minutes just laying in the middle of my living room when I was done. And the second run was rough because my body was so tired. But it was great!
It gets everything!
Cardio - Check (2 runs, jump roping, walks)
Lower body - Check (Can you say jump squats???)

Upper body - Check (push ups and you hit your arms when you're doing the jump ropes...if your arms don't burn you're doing something wrong...)
Abs - Check! (A good 7 minutes of abs toward the end)

I even had a chance to enjoy the flowers in the nearby neighborhood during one of my walking parts.

And when I got back home afterward (after collapsing on the floor for an extended period of time of course...) I have never been more excited that have by daily Shakeology! I threw in some frozen berries and blended it all up! Yumm! I would've taken a picture, but it was gone too quickly by the time I remembered! I woud've been taking a picture of an empty glass! :-)

Well anyway, this workout was fantastic! And I highly recommend checking it out if you're in need of a real ass-kicking workout! And it's totally do-able! Just run as slow and as much as you need to and take as many breaks as you need! God knows I had to, especially toward the tail end of the workout when my body felt so exhausted! :-)

Let me know what you think!

You guys know by now if you've read my fitness section at all that I really REALLY and Daily HIIT hasn't been updated in a while. So, I figured, why not??

I started googling and found a whole bunch of at-home no equipment crossfit WODs (workout of the day = WOD).  The most that any of these requires is a kettleball, which is pretty easy to find or can be easily replaced by a free weight in your hand. So, tonight, I'm embarking on a new fitness promise.

I'm going to work out 4-5x a week. Six proved to be a little ambition last semester, especially toward the end of the semester.
I'm going to run at least 2x a week, and I can subsitute in soccer for one of those 2x since I'm starting on an indoor team next week.
I'm going to CrossFit, with these at - home WODs at least 2x a week!

So far so good this week.
I did that insanity cardio that I posted previously yesterday! - Check 1 day

And today I did a CrossFit WOD - 10 reps of 10 air squats, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 10 dips! - Check 2 days! I even timed myself - 18:23 min.  Not bad! Not great, but not bad!

Here are some of the websites I found for at-home crossfit WODs!

Enjoy!!

Alright guys - I resolve to always only post food and workouts on here that I think are great. That, for whatever reason, fit the bill for something that I think is perfect for a graduate student or student, or heck, just a person who'se trying to stay fit.  And this, my friends, is one of those things.

Let me tell you first that I've always wanted to try Insanity.   It is my kind of workout. No weights (or very few weights), which is great for those of us that really don't have the money to spend on tons of workout equipment, very little space is needed, and it combines strength and cardio into shortened workouts that just kick ass.

And let me tell you, this little 15 min ditty that Shaun T did for Dr. Oz (I don't even know how long ago...probably a while) KICKED. MY. ASS. Like, I used to get bouts of (what I think is) athletic induced asthma back in my soccer days which takes me a little bit to recover from (no inhaler needed, yet), and this puppy hand me hands on knees, struggling to breathe properly because it was such a good cardio killer.

Maybe some of you are think...."ummmm...hey crazy, hands on knees, struggling to breathe is not good!"  C'mon now! I wasn't about to die! This sucker pushed me, and pushed me hard, and isn't that what changing yourself is all about? Discomfort!!

I highly suggest giving this workout a try, especially if you, like me, don't feel like your workout is complete without a little bit of cardio.  Personally, cardio is what really gets me going and gets me sweating, and this 15 min (holy crap it was only 15 min...so out of shape!!) REALLY had me sweating! And it was so easy to tack on to an otherwise uneventful and uninspiring strength day.  I love Daily HIIT, but oftentimes, their 45 min workouts just aren't practica for me.  Heck I just started winter semester of my first year of graduate school. I don't have time for that. But something that kicks my ass this much?? I'm down! And you should try it too! It's quick, it's simple, and holy crap do I feel good after completing that!! (I did better than Oz...hehe!)

Give it a whirl!! You definitely won't regret it! I'm going to fit this into my workouts more often! And who knows, maybe when I have money, I'll finally try that Insanity workout for real!!

I have to post about this, because frankly this is workout gold! The 30 Day Real Time BodyRock Challenge.  This is why I love body rock! They're providing a real-time 30 day workout program, led by their lead trainer, for free!! I just finished Day 1, and I'm dying! My arm muscles are shaking - it's a really kick ass workout!

What do you have to lose??

Check this out! I totally suggest it! The workouts are great, and she keeps you really motivated all the way through the 40 minute workout. That is the one caveat of this - body rock workouts are usually short and sweet and this is a bit longer, but if you just look at the reviews by the other users on their website, they're finding the program to be great!

I love that body rock does this! This is a free service, and these videos are no joke! It's phenomenal! I love this, and I'm planning on posting my before and after pics after I complete the 30 day challenge! Who wants to join me??

I'm injured once again! Such is life. Very frustrating, but oh well! I've still got to get my workouts and my HIIT in, even if it means that I can't get the cardio and really kickass HIIT workouts in because of my injury.  So, this is the workout that I'm doing today. And, it's one of my go-to arm workouts! It got my arms ripped over the summer when I really injured my knee over the summer and was out of commission for almost 4 weeks.  This is a less serious injury, but still - I've gotta get my workouts in and now seems a great time while I'm waiting for my laundry to finish drying!

Awesome workout from Daily HIIT! I felt like giving my legs a break since I have another soccer double header tomorrow.  My arms felt like jelly after this workout! Check it out!

Post your scores (reps per exercise) if you want to compare!

Mine were:

31 10 23 6 10 20
28 8 25 8 11 15
25 8 22 6 10 12

I'm working on a poem to be like motivation mantra! When I'm done I'll post it! :-)

Until next time!
